Eirik Steinhoff lives and teaches in Chicago, where he edited Chicago Review from 2000 until 2005. He started translating Petrarch as fieldwork for an essay on Sir Thomas Wyatt.

Rime Sparse 190 : Winter of 2006/2007

Rime Sparse 190 is a new translation of a sonnet of Petrarch's by Eirik Steinhoff. Before him, Wyatt translated this sonnet as "Whoso list to hunt."

The poem is illustrated with artwork by Hannah Woodroofe. This bilingual, folded broadside was letterpressed at Dexterity Press, Chicago, and was issued in celebration of the New Year.
